About Backcountry Elopement

Backcountry Elopement is led by Ryan Alonzo, a Sierra Nevada elopement photographer focused on intimate weddings in wild mountain settings. The approach blends documentary photography, landscape-aware portraits, and practical planning support for couples who want their wedding experience to feel grounded, intentional, and connected to the outdoors.

Ryan photographs backpacking weddings and mule-supported backcountry elopements across the Eastern Sierra, from Bridgeport south through Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, and nearby California mountain locations. The goal is to make space for real moments while helping couples feel prepared for the terrain, timing, weather, stock logistics, and rhythm of the day.
